Manage Credential/Badge Requests
Users can manage credential requests. This section can be found in the following location CONNECT > Requests > Manage Credential/Badge Requests. In this section the user can view credential requests and approve or reject the requests if applicable.
The system can be configured to require approval when an identity makes a credential/badge request. This section provides an overview of the approval process.

Depending on configuration, the CONNECT system may require that all requester or requestee identity's requests to be approved by the identity's direct manager (or their delegate - see IDM > Assigning a Manager Delegate section for more information) before a new credential can be issued. In this event the manager (and their delegate, if configured) will receive an email once the identity's credential request has been completed.
The manager (or their delegate, if configured) can click the link in the email to be taken directly (once signed in) to the Credential Approval page (CONNECT > Requests > Manage Credential/Badge Requests).
Once approved, the status of the Request changes from Submitted to Approved. The Photo ID Technicians (and Photo ID Administrators, if configured) will receive an email, notifying them of the credential request. The user can click the link to be taken directly (once signed in) to process the credential (CONNECT > Requests > Manage Credential/Badge Requests).
If the user chooses not to click the link, they can manually navigate to CONNECT > Requests > Manage Credential/Badge Requests.
The page - which by default will be set to all requests with the status 'Approved' - allows the user to search/filter the list. The search criteria can also be reset by clicking the Reset button. Or be refreshed by clicking the Refresh button. The user can also select to Show my requests only (in which case only requests where the logged on identity is the requester or requestee will be visible).
Request for: The user/identity that the request is for
Request dates: The date the request was made (From date - To date)
Status: The status of the request - Activated, Approved, Expired, Processed, Rejected, Submitted
Expires before: The date that the credential request will expire
Building: The building associated with the request
Once the user finds the record they need, they click on the badge icon to access the record information.
On the next screen the Photo ID Tech/Admin user has the ability to edit the photo (if required). They then need to select a Badge Template, Card Type and enter a Card Number and, dependent on Card Type selected, a Facility Code. If configured, they can also add a Expiration Date and Time.
The credential request can now either be approved or rejected. If the credential request is approved, Click the Print Badge button then click the Process button to finish the request. Status of the Request should change to 'Processed' and a Credential Request Approval notification sent to the Requester / Requestee.
If the system is configured for Auto Activating credentials (see Credential Request for further information) then the status of the request will change from Processed to Activated and the Identity's Credential will appear on their Identity Details page in CONNECT.
Clicking the Reject button rejects the credential request. A reason for the rejection must be provided for the rejection to be processed by the system. This is then confirmed by clicking the Submit button. The user/identity who raised the credential request will receive an email informing them of the rejection decision. The reason supplied in this step will also be visible in this email.
The status of the credential request is visible against the user/identity, as illustrated in the image below.
Note
If the credential request has been previously rejected, it is highlighted in red as shown in the image above.
Credential Requests and Reminders
If a Credential Request remains at Status Submitted without having been approved or rejected then, five days after the request was submitted, a Reminder notification is triggered and sent to the approver. The Notification is configured in a similar way to the example below.

It is possible to configure the system to set the expiry period of credential requests (see Request Expiration in Days section in Credential Request for further information). If a Credential Request remains at Status Submitted without having been approved or rejected then, at the configured number of days after the request was submitted, the Status is set to Expired and a Expiration notification is triggered and sent to the Requester (and Requestee, if different). The Notification is configured in a similar way to the example below.

Manual Credential Activation:
The system can be configured for Manual Activation of credentials, meaning that the credential is not activated until it has been received by the identity. Once the credential has been processed (see steps above), the identity receives an email notification to confirm the credential has been processed. There is a link in the email allowing the identity to activate the credential when they receive it.
When the Identity receives their credential, they click the link and it is activated automatically.
