Opting out of Email Notifications and SMS Messages
Visitors (but not Employees or Non Employees) have the option to opt out of Email Notifications and/or SMS Notifications.
Email Notifications
When a visit is scheduled, updated or cancelled, a visitor will receive (if enabled) a Visitor Welcome, Visit Update or Visit Cancellation email as appropriate. The visitor can elect to click on the Unsubscribe link at the foot of any of these emails. They will then be automatically unsubscribed from ALL of these email types and will no longer receive any of them.
The Administrator can check whether or not the Visitor has unsubscribed from emails at any time by running the Unsubscribed from Emails Report (refer to the Unsubscribed from Emails Report section for further details).
SMS Notifications
For SMS notifications, where the configured SMS Provider is Twilio, these will not be sent at all to a visitor until they have been confirmed as Opted-In to receive those notifications. When a visit is scheduled for the first time for a new Visitor, and SMS messages are enabled for the specific visit type, the visitor will receive a Opt-in text message. Unless, and until, the visitor responds to the SMS opt-in message with Yes or Start (values are not case-sensitive), the visitor will receive no SMS messages for Visitor Welcome, Visit Updated or Visit Cancelled.
The Administrator can check whether or not the Visitor has opted in to SMS messages at any time by running the Subscribed - Unsubscribed from SMS Messages Report. Where a Visitor has opted in by responding with keywords YES or START, the Opt Status will be set to Confirmed. Where a Visitor has opted out by responding with keywords STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT, the Opt Status will be set to Denied. Where a Visitor has responded with something other than the recognized keywords, or has not responded at all, the Opt Status will be set to Not Confirmed.
The Administrator can check whether or not the Visitor has opted in to SMS messages at any time by running the Subscribed - Unsubscribed from SMS Messages Report (Refer to the Subscribed - Unsubscribed from SMS Messages Report for further details).
