Partition Data by Company

Note

Required fields are indicated with a red Asterisk.

Enabling Partition Data by Company allows an administrator to configure what data Identities within each Company can see. A Company can be partitioned whereby its Identities can only see each other’s data, or they may be able to see data from additional companies, depending on configuration. A Company can also be configured to see all other Company data if required.

Company partitioning affects the GUEST and CONNECT tabs (it has no effect on the IDM tab itself). If partitioning is enabled and configured, users of GUEST and CONNECT will only be able to see data according to the Company Partitioning configuration.

CONFIGURE A NEW COMPANY PARTITION
  • To access the Partition Data by Company configuration tab, the toggle switch must be set to the ON position.

  • Click the New button to create a new partition data by company rule.

  • Add the base company.

    cp_3.png
  • Add the visible companies (multiple selections are possible).

    cp_4.png
  • Selecting Allow visibility into all Companies automatically adds all companies within the system to be visible. If this field is unchecked then any Companies in the system that are not Base Companies or Visible Companies automatically become Standalone Companies.

  • Click the Save button to apply and save the changes. Or click the Cancel button to delete and cancel the changes.

Once Data Partitioning is ON and configured, the following restrictions will apply:

  • The Base Company will only be able to see data that applies to Base Company and all Visible Companies. They will not be able to see data that applies to Standalone Companies.

  • Visible Companies and Standalone Companies will only be able to see data that applies to their own Company.

The restrictions placed on users by Data Partitioning will affect multiple operations in GUEST and CONNECT including:

  • Searching for and viewing Identities

  • Executing Reports

  • Searching for, viewing, scheduling and checking in Visits in GUEST

  • Managing Access and Credential requests in CONNECT
